Dear Lord, let your will be done

Dear Lord,

Today is the day of my school's SYF Chinese Dance competition. Although in my heart, I really hope they will get a Gold Award, or at least a Silver, but I don't want to pray in this way... I jus wanna pray that your will be done for my Chinese Dance group because I know that the award they get is your way of telling me whether to stay in this job, or to live a life according to your will.

My previous school got a Silver for the 1st year, and a bronze for the 2nd year. I know that in some way, it is your will being done, and you are determining my future steps for me.......

As my heart comes to a crossroad again, I really pray that you will lead me in my future path, and to do more things for you in your kingdom.

"Goodbye, Lenin" & V for Vendetta

Its been a long time since I have time to sit in front of a tv and watch a movie. So last night, I finally found time to watch a very great movie "Goodbye, Lenin" shown on arts central. I find that arts central is really a very good channel showing many award-winning foreign movies. I love watching foreign movies and I have been a great fan of foreign movies shown during film festival for many years. But alas, it is really difficult to find people with the same taste, so sometimes I do go watch film festival movies on my own.....I don't know whether this year, I will go watch film festival movies alone again.

Ok, back to the movie. Its basically about an old lady who went into a coma becoz of a heart attack. She was an active party member of the East Germany politcal party before the collaspe of the Berlin wall. During the 8 months she was in coma, the Berlin wall fell, and the political and social situation change completely. When she woke up 8 months later, her son decided to hide the truth from her so as to prevent her from having another heart attack. But everything have changed, and it was really quite hilarious hiding the truth from her.....

I'm not really interested in politics but I can feel strongly for those commoner who lost their right and freedom under certain kind of political ruling.....Its basically a thought-provoking and sad movie, but luckily they film it in a hilarious way......The scene I remember deeply is the son throwing 30,000 of east germany money into the air as it is not worth anything anymore after they missed the deadline for changing it into German "Mark".

Can you imagine a supposedly loving family being separated for so many years becoz of political situation? Its really sad. In the end, the mother finally get to see the father after the wall collapsed and when she was going to die soon. After she died, her ashes were shoot up in a rocket, and scattered into the air. So much for the life of an active member of the ex East Germany political party. We are all dust in the wind afterall........

This show suddenly make me think of another movie "V for Vendetta" which I watch for only RM$8 in Malacca..........Guys & gals, I strongly recommend this show too........
